Dune Prequel Series Begins Production Very Soon

After the smash success of last year’s movie adaptation, Warner Bros. Discovery to work in every sense of the word Dune Franchise business. Not only is a sequel currently in production, but the franchise will be expanding into an exclusive HBO Max series, with a tentative title Dune: Sisters. The show was originally ordered for the series in 2019, and will be set 10,000 years before the events of Duneand will be based on Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson’s novel based on the pop-up Dune Sisters. The series is starting to get some confirmed cast members – and it looks like they’ll be starting production on the show pretty soon. Friday, a new report revealed that filming for Dune: Sisters It will start sometime in November in Budapest, Hungary, along with ongoing production of Dune: Part Two.

Dune: Sisters Will star Emily Watson (Chernobyl, Hillary and Jackie), Shirley Henderson (Harry Potter, Miss Pettigrew, live for a day), and Indira Pharma (Game of Thrones, Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi). Diane Ademu-John serves as creator, writer, co-showrunner and executive producer. Alison Schapker is a co-model and executive producer. Emmy Award-winning Johann Renck will direct the first two episodes and executive production.

What is the Dune: Sisters Around?

Dune: Sisters It was previously described as being told through the eyes of a mysterious command of women known as Bene Gesserit. Seeing extraordinary abilities through their mastery of body and mind, Bene Gesserit expertly weaves through feudal politics and the machinations of The Imperium, pursuing their own plans that will eventually lead them to the mysterious planet Arrakis, known to its inhabitants as Dune. It will serve as an introduction to the films. The series will be written by returning franchise writer Jon Spaihts, with Diane Ademo-John as the presenter, and Johan Renck as the director for the first two episodes.

Spaihts previously said during an interview with Playlist. “But that effort is still alive and well. I ended up walking away from work, not just at work. Dune: Part Twobut to investigate other cinematic prospects in Dune The universe, which we still talk about and which, again, I’m not allowed to talk much about. But it’s a very rich world to play in, and I think it’s full of storytelling opportunities in every direction. They’re on the right track, but I honestly don’t know the timing details.”
